Shared containment, defined interfaces and operator intent — how building systems should talk without becoming a gadget stack.

Integration is valuable when each system keeps its job. HVAC controls climate. Fire remains a life-safety loop. Access decides doors. A BMS or residential gateway supervises; it should not rewrite fire logic or unlock doors without a defined cause-and-effect.
The practical work is containment and interfaces: ELV trays shared by CCTV, access and BMS; HVAC points mapped for supervision; lighting scenes that do not fight fire-alarm notification. Those decisions belong on drawings, not in a mobile-app screenshot.
Residential smart-home packages and commercial BMS are different products. Villas need scenes and climate at the room. Offices need plant graphics and alarm routing. Mixing the two languages in one quotation confuses both.
ASIF specifies HVAC, CCTV, access, BMS and smart-home families as related scopes with named interfaces. Honeywell, CamScan and Johnson Controls appear in those supply lists where the project requires them.
